Goddess Run Details

Due to the global pandemic, the 2020 Goddess Run will now be a virtual run.

A message from Cathy, our Chief Goddess

I hope you and your family are staying healthy during these tumultuous times. I am sure you aren’t surprised by this message, but with the current ban on events and crowds, and with the safety of each of our wonderful Goddesses in mind, we have decided to move from an in-person event to a virtual experience for this year’s Goddess Run. While not the situation any of us wanted, luckily we have lots of experience in the Virtual Goddess Run world!

We are going to close registration as of April 22 and have a limited number of spots available. But there is still time to join us and receive all our awesome swag!

In case you haven’t participated in one before, a virtual run is a run/walk/skip that you do on your own, recording you distance and time yourself (if you want!). So rather than us all starting and finishing at Belmont School on June 6, we will instead encourage you to map out your own route on a day and time that works for you. You can also do the distance over multiple days. Even a treadmill will work! Please do practice physical distancing as we really do not want to see any of you running together if we are still isolating.

With the help of Race Roster, we will be providing you with a wonderful virtual experience with the ability to post your results, photos and more. And, of course as is a Goddess tradition, you will still be receiving all your swag, including your shirt, bead and a race bag filled with other goodies by June 1. And prizes of course!   We will still have diamond jewelry from Lugaro that we will be doing draws for and everyone will be eligible no matter what distance you complete.

To be eligible for prizes, we will have a window of June 1 to June 22 for you to complete your Goddess Virtual Run. This window may change as the global situation changes.

We will send you more details on how to participate in the virtual run as we get closer to the event. With the virtual run, you can still run your BMO 5K, Westhills 10K or even a half marathon. You can do the distance in one day or over a couple days. Login to your race roster account if you want to change to a different distance or send me an email at cathy@goddessrun.ca

Fear not you don’t need to do anything (except train of course!). As all the swag has been ordered and is on its way we cannot issue refunds on the event.  You will also be getting a special registration code once we open registration for the 10th Annual Goddess Run scheduled for June 5, 2021 and it will be a full weekend of activities.

Our Goddess community are meeting online, and our Goddess Ambassador Yana Hempler is setting up challenges and answering questions in the group. When you register you can join this group as well!

We are going to keep registration open until April 22, but we have limited spots so we may sell out early. We hope you join us – register today HERE.

If you have any questions, please let me know. We are all in this together and we’re here to support you.

Take care Goddesses!
Cathy Noel, Chief Goddess

Course Map

Our 2020 Course Map will be available in the spring. In the meantime, here’s what 2019 was all about!

What do goddesses like in a route?   Shade, frequent water stops, great volunteers, music, cheer stations, quiet roads and trails…..

This year you get it all!  This out and back route starting and finishing at Belmont School will make our Goddesses smile when they cross the finish line.

Roads and paths will wind through Westhills.  Away from traffic and with an out and back route you can cheer on and see all the costumes that the other participants will be wearing. We are sure you will find this to be the best Goddess course yet!

Goddess Run is proud to partner with the BC Cancer Foundation to support the Immunotherapy Clinical Trials Program. Phase 1 of this program focuses on Adoptive T Cell Therapy (ATC) and is set to begin in July. ATC activates and expands a patient’s own T cells (a type of white blood cell) and infuses large numbers back into the patient’s bloodstream to “seek and destroy” cancer cells wherever they may be hiding. The first trial at BC Cancer in Victoria will focus on treating gynecological cancers (ovarian, cervical and endometrial) with naturally occurring, tumour-fighting T cells.

Route Closures – Traffic Advisories

1,000 women will be running and walking from the race start/finish at Belmont School on Glen Lake Road.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope that you will support us as we raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.  2019 Traffic advisory information – CLICK HERE.

2020 Traffic advisory information will be available in late May 2020.

Sponsorship & Expo Package
